About This Beer
In their Lab Series, By All Means really experiments with spirit barrels to bring the best of all styles. And of course, what else could you do with a decadent, rich dark beer base than up the ante with a heap of bake-off worthy treats? The team crafted 004 with heaps of oatmeal, gobs of sweet cookie dough, sprinkles of cinnamon, and laces of velvety vanilla, and aged it all in Booker’s Bourbon barrels for added opulence!
Tasting Notes
Every sip oozes with fresh-baked flavors of a chewy, crumbly delight. Holiday spice cuts the rich flavor, liking the drying cinnamon on a snickerdoodle, with opulent crème brûlée rising underneath.

Fantastic aroma. The guys from BAM sent me some but I snagged one off here to show support ;) Giant monster oatmeal chocolate chip cookie with extra raisins. Smooth, sweet, and some barrel. Beautiful pastry porter.

Caramel, raisins, toffee, oatmeal. I'm not a pastry stout lover, but this was good

Unfortunately this is awful. Tastes like watered down vanilla vodka

Caramelly, raisins, toffee, layered, slick.

Cherry centered Oreo cookie with a hint of booze.

Low carbonation, head dissipates very quickly, a bit thin for being a dessert beer, a bit tannic, and not a lot flavors or aromas of the stated ingredients. It’s perfectly drinkable and enjoyable enough, but just doesn’t deliver as advertised.

Very raisiny, too sweet, and a bit on the thin side. Not terrible, but a bit one-dimensional.

Many things are happening here. Sweet and full of a plethora of spices. Very smooth.

Strong vanilla, good barrel presence, but thin. Little bit of a cookie thing.

like an oatmeal raisin cookie

Reminds me of those soft oatmeal cookies that have creamy filling sandwiched inbetween. But with a nice bourbony flavor- definitely a dessert beer. The heavy cinnamon taste overshadows the other flavors a bit too much for me- but overall nice beer!
