A Note on This Beer

Creamy peanut butter, roasted hazelnuts, silky vanilla, and gooey toasted marshmallow.

Those are the real ingredients in today’s extraordinarily luscious Pastry Stout! And, with all the chocolatey dark malts stuffed into the base beer, every dreamy sip is like a mouthful of velvety s’mores-flavored ice cream.

The brew wizards behind this opulent, 10% ABV dessert bomb are none other than the husband-and-wife team at Westbrook Brewing. They crafted this peanutty delight in celebration of their brewery’s 10th Anniversary!

Their dark beer mastery has landed them on “Best” lists all across the country, and their dark beers rank among the Top American Stouts on Beeradvocate.

Not to mention, Westbrook capped off their first decade of business as one of Vine Pair’s Most Important Breweries of the 2010s! So, they’ve earned the right to get as decadent as they please.

We recommend saving Westbrook’s 10th Anniversary Stout for a special occasion. Of course, that’s if you can resist diving into those melty pastry flavors right away.

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Westbrook Brewing Company is certified independent by the Brewers Association

Not much mallow but good. The title sounds better than the taste.

Flavor is of cocoa, coffee, peanut, hazelnut, vanilla, cookie, toast, marshmallow, and pecan. Delicious, very drinkable. Not overly sweet despite the description. Instead surprisingly well balanced. A real treat.

I was going to give this a four but I think it’s worth a 4.15 to a 4.2 because of the lingering mouthfeel and honestly it’s better then just a solid 4

Wow. Been a while since I had a beer like this. 4 adjuncts is always going to be tricky to really *taste* each one, but I think they work together nicely. Marshmallow dominates the nose with some vanilla. Surprisingly, it’s not that sweet, nutty finish.

Not your typical pastry bomb! Very nutty, tame roastiness and bitterness, vanilla, medium body. Not bad at all.

Dessert-like, with cocoa and coffee tones to balance the sweetness.

Pretty good stout- sweet and filling. Vanilla added just a bit too much bitterness for me, but pour was still palatable.

Good but for some reason had a stale or old taste. Still had a nice flavor profile. Took points off but at its full potential, 4.50 or 4.70

Can't find any marshmallow or hazelnut, mild peanut butter. Very smooth drinking though. Very bitter lingering dark chocolate in the after taste. Decent beer, just not what I expected

The star flavors all are balanced here. Very creamy smooth due to marshmallow, I'm sure. Great pastry stout overall.

Fantastic, peanut butter can be overbearing sometimes, but subtle here. Nice strong dessert stout.

Ordered from Tavour. Chilled and poured into an imperial pint glass. Look: dark, almost black. half finger size head, small lacing Smell: sweet, peanut butter, light hazelnut, vanilla if you reach Taste: sweet and sticky on the front with sweet peanuty goodness, marshmallow (kind of like lucky charms marshmallows, kinda processed) and vanilla peak in the middle, peanut butter and hints of hazelnut. small bitterness. Think a liquid fluffernutter. Feel: full feel, slight tickle of carbonation, sticky Bren loves hazelnut and I am a big dark/peanut butter kind guy. They hide the ABV well (10%) with sweetness and peanut butter. We thought this was a good sipping beer, not a gulping beer. Overall a good sweet stout. Cheers!
