A Note on This Beer
*Takes a bite of steak*
Okay, I’ve had many phenomenal meals in my life, but this Porterhouse paired with Evil Twin and Westbrook’s 120 Days Dry Aged Stout is one of my absolute favorites.
*Takes a sip*
The Stout chefs who brought us the beloved Even More Jesus series have once again teamed up with the award-winning makers of the decadent Mexican Cake. And the power brewery couple created today’s brew specifically to be paired with a juicy, medium-rare steak dinner.
So, I’ll give you all of the delicious details while I alternate tender bites with satisfying sips.
*Takes a bite.*
Oh lord, this is heaven! You know the feeling of going to your favorite restaurant and as soon as you sink your teeth into the first bite, fireworks start firing off in your brain? I’m in that kind of happy place right now.
*Takes a sip*
Whoa! What is going on? One sip of 120 Days just amplified my taste buds, adding a ludicrously huge 17.5% ABV that completely vanishes behind a curtain of dark chocolate and roasty malt.
*Takes a bite followed by a slurp*
Layers of biscuit and espresso mingle with subtle notes of toffee, cream, and a light earthiness. I can definitely see why it’s rated a stellar 4.21 on Untappd.
*Takes another long, slow sip*
My steak-stuffed palate has been transformed. Forget meal-of-the-year, this is the meal of a lifetime!
*Takes a bite, calms down, and returns to reality*
Okay, maybe this isn’t the very best dinner I’ve ever experienced. But damn it, I know what I’m doing for my best buddy’s birthday later this month. And turkey might just get subbed out for steak this Thanksgiving. Oh, and forget Christmas ham 2019 — we’re having steak with 120 Days Stout, baby!
