About This Beer
To make it, 3 Sons dedicated over 48 consecutive hours to the boil, achieving the highest starting gravity of any Barleywine they’ve EVER crafted. Then they let it mature in freshly-emptied Buffalo Trace Stagg Jr. barrels for over 25 months!
Tasting Notes
Notes of candied date and crème brûlée unfold throughout the chewy sip, with hints of rich caramel and raisin coursing just underneath. All that time in oak imparts significant barrel character to the back end, leaving luxurious vanilla, char, and warming whiskey nuances lingering on the palate long after the velvety finish. And it’s all hiding an impossibly smooth 15% ABV.
