Kentucky is the birthplace of bourbon. Or, more accurately, it is boozy caramel-soaked heaven for whiskey lovers.

And the dark toffee gates that those Bourbonites call home is the 5x “Whiskey of the Year” award-winner, Evan Williams.

So naturally, the GABF champs at Drake’s Brewing hand-selected these world-class barrels for aging their beloved Drakonic Imperial Stout. 

And ooh, doggy, we’re sure glad they did!

After one sip of today’s Evan Williams Bourbon Barrel Aged Drakonic Imperial Stout (2018), our palate flitted away to oaky vanilla and bourbon-spiked chocolate paradise!

To indulge your palate in this same flavor nirvana, you could fly to California, grab a bottle of Drakonic, and then spike it with Evan Williams Bourbon. 

But frankly, it’s a lot more fun (and delicious) to be one of the only folks outside the Golden State to nab this decadent, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout that’s been cellaring to silky smooth perfection for almost 2 years! 

I’m definitely not the only one dreaming of this 11.2% ABV beast — fans on Untappd lucky enough to snag one of the last remaining bottles of this vintage are straight swooning:
