About This Beer

You’ve probably never tasted a beer as mind-bendingly complex as Firestone Walker’s 25th Anniversary Ale. To make it, the brewers took five of their legendary barrel aged brews and blended them together. Here’s what’s inside:

41% Parabola Bourbon Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout

28% Tequila Barrel Aged Velvet Merkin Milk Stout

13% Brandy Barrel Aged Barley Wine

10% Bourbon Barrel Aged Stickee Monkee Quadrupel Ale

8% Whiskey Barrel Aged Wheat Wine

It’s like an entire cellar’s worth of enviable Firestone Walker beers in every drop!

According to the brewers, “25 is best enjoyed when poured carefully into a half-filled brandy snifter or wine glass. Swirl and allow it to warm to 55F to fully enjoy the pleasing and complex aromas.”

We’ll warn you right now, it’s going to require an awful lot of patience to sit and let this beer warm to optimal temperature.

Tasting Notes

As soon as you pour it, aromas of brandy, chocolate, and coconut come billowing from the glass. You might also catch a subtle nuttiness drifting through, and even a touch of tequila. When you finally take a sip, you’ll discover a harmonious symphony of cocoa and black cherry flavors, punctuated by notes of vanilla and caramel that resonate from beginning to end. Echoes of brandy and tequila reverberate across the palate long after the liquid is gone.

For the incredible amount of craziness in this beer, it's very surprisingly balanced and refined. It's very good.

this is peak beer drinking. the amazing way that each blended beer shows up at a different stage of tasting is incredible. the nose is almost exclusively Parabola with toffee and raisin but also with a hint of bourbony cherry. the initial taste follows the nose but then it develops into sweet milk chocolate with roasted coffee and creamy coconut. this beer is brilliant.

Aroma of chocolate cherries soaked in brandy. Tons of bourbon, roasted malt, and oak in the taste. These Anniversary Ales are such fun blends!

Black pour, thin ring of beige head. Sweet aroma, malty, boozy. Taste is malty, sweet, raisins, chocolate. Creamy, slick, warm. As usual, perfect blending.

Creamy head, dark brown color, Bourbon aroma with a hint of chocolate, coconut, and oak, barleywine, dark chocolate, and black cherry tastes with caramel, grape, Tequila, and vanilla notes, smooth, heavy body, some acidity, warming alcohol finish.

very smooth, but has a clear alcohol presence. I get notes of toffee and chocolate that mellow out nicely

Love FW anniversary ales! Each one very unique and the 25th edition doesn't disappoint. Enjoy the blends and certainly stout / barleywine. Barleywine stands out in this even though it is a much smaller % of blend. Great nose and complexity of flavors; age very well.
