A Note on This Beer
It’s a Hop Ballad: The 100% Cashmere Hops in this brew mean the flavors keep going and going. Tropical Tango: Ripe pineapple and lush guava mingle with tangy tangerine and just a touch of pithy bitterness to coat your tastebuds in a jingle of fruit.
There are several reasons you probably shouldn’t chug a whole can of 8 Minute Song.
First off, there’s so much tropical fruit flavor in this brew, it would be a shame to gulp it all right past your palate. Take a little time to let the layers unfold, and you’ll be rewarded with complex flavors far beyond what you’ll find on the first sip — look for passionfruit, and even a hint of pine!
Second, it’s from Wilmington Brewing Company, which means you can’t find it outside of North Carolina, except for right here. A rarity like this demands to be savored!
And finally, this stuff comes with a no-nonsense 7.6% ABV, so if you chug it, you’re going to feel it in a significant way! If you want to enjoy a couple — and you will — you should probably pace yourself.
That’ll be tough once this soft-bodied Hazy hits your lips. If it helps, put on Purple Rain by Prince and use it as a timer — it’s almost exactly 8 minutes long. Or, if you want to take it really slow, you can always watch the movie.
Wilmington took Best in Show two years in a row at the North Carolina Brewers Cup!
