A Note on This Beer

New York Stout seekers gobble up Destination Unknown’s impeccable Abuse of Stout series for three reasons:

1. Real pastry ingredients for unforgettable dessert flavors.

2. Thick and creamy mouthfeels that flow like black silk across the tongue.

3. Incredibly boozy ABVs whose strength is expertly masked with the brews’ luscious taste.

And, you better believe today’s Coconut, Chocolate, Almond version lives up to those standards. This 12% ABV treat is like a velvety mocha mousse with its additions of honey, cacao nibs, coconut shavings, crushed almonds, and creamy vanilla!

Normally, thirsty Empire State Stout fans would snatch up this delicacy the moment it’s released. They’ve been known to buy every last drop of DUBCO’s brews within mere hours!

Lucky for you, we nabbed a stash for Tavour before DUBCO’s fans could get it all. Are your tastebuds ready for this boozy chocolate bomb?

DUBCO won medals last year from both the New York State Craft Beer Competition AND the TAP New York Beer Fest!

Fairly sweet with only the slightest bitter aftertaste. One of the better stouts I've had on Tavour. I would drink this again.

Perfectly sweet with a hint of booze and chewy like molasses. I should've bought 10. Truly the best stout I've ever had

Honestly, this is what creamy hot cocoa would be if it got cold, and had a splash of coconut. Thick, sweet, very drinkable. Little booze on the backend but doesn't take away from the chocolate flavor. Definitely a beer for campfire nights!

While I must say I’m not a beer person, particularly beers with a bitter taste, this one hits in a strange way. The best way I could describe it, is that it’s initially a bit bitter, yet somehow has a sweet aftertaste which, considering its ingredients is no surprise at all, but makes this beer special since sweet and bitter normally don’t complement each other the way this does. Right off the bat I can immediately taste the honey and chocolate, which lingers on for quite awhile but again that aftertaste in my opinion is where I can catch the coconut and almonds, even though other people say they taste the coconut more strongly. I’m no connoisseur of any kind, so take what I have to say with a heaping grain of salt, but I quite enjoy this one. Normally I love sweet drinks or cocktails but this one truly hits it on the nose in capturing the essence of sweet without actually being just a chocolate “not your fathers root beer style” or some kind of sweet cider drink. If you’re into semi-sweet beers with a diverse but well mixed flavor profile, this one is probably for you. Or if you just like getting drunk like I do, this one works just as superb as any other drink you can get your hands on with a great taste to boot. Short of a PBR I’m pretty hard pressed to rate a beer poorly haha.

Super sweet - but in a good way, as it masks the abv heat. It's a sipper for sure, and makes the fall/winter days a good bit more tolerable!
