A Note on This Beer
Two years ago we tried to score today’s limited release … and when we failed, we were heartbroken. Because The Rare Barrel’s Across The Sea is a drinking adventure that will make you feel like a Sour connoisseur of the highest order. But missing out on it and hearing about it from others? We can tell you from experience, that just sucks.
Fortunately, this year we were able to get our hands on a small stash and the wait was worth it! This is a barrel aged Gose blend with accents of Himalayan Salt and it's well named. Drinking it is like being tossed across a tart sea of tangerine citrus and landing in a margarita!
Vinous briny waves of liquid gold are amplified with bites of lemon and coriander. Each sip offers something new but refreshing is the way to describe each one. The salty snap on the finish and the tart, pithy flair is what makes you feel like you've fallen off a ship and into a swanky bar where you're being handed a massive glass with a lime wedge and a healthy sea salt rim.
The Rare Barrel has one of the most competitive bottle memberships in craft beer and it’s because each bottle is a small batch ticket to an out of the ordinary drinking experience. Across The Sea delivers this in spades. You won't even feel like you're drinking it on dry land.
