A Note on This Beer

Today’s massive brew is a 12.5% ABV Quadruple New England IPA that drinks like straight-up pineapple juice!

It fittingly comes from Ingenious Brewing, one of the Texas breweries transforming Houston into “Juiceton.” According to Hop Culture, they’re “brewing juicy New England IPAs that rival some of the best in the country!”

Dosed with heaps of Sabro, Citra, and Cascade Hops, Adult Icarus is a wrecking ball of bright, tropical fruit flavors. Notes of fresh pineapple dominate, with smooth waves of nectarous mango and sweet malt backing it up. On the finish, only the slightest hint of booze appears behind a balancing, lingering bitterness.

It’s all so sumptuously smooth and pillowy soft, you might think it can’t possibly be that boozy…until you stand up.

We don’t see a lot of QIPAs, and we certainly don’t remember any being this ridiculously silky and mouthwateringly juicy. But with an ABV this big, maybe there’s a reason we don’t remember. Either way, you don’t want to miss this one!

Bright tropical fruit aromas. Pretty smooth given the ABV, but there’s a nice little boozy kick. Definitely on the sweet side, but that’s expected with a quad IPA. The Sabro hops dominate and I get lots of pineapple notes with a bit of coconut too.

Was very impressed. Got this more for a label for a bud who is collecting, thinking it’d be a bit heavy. Was realllly smooth for a quad. Wow!

I don’t even like IPAs but as a gamer I liked the can and got it so my IPA loving boyfriend could try it. And he, after tasting it, insisted I try it. Boy am I glad I did. This beer is amazing, smooth and doesn’t have a super hoppy aftertaste that I’ve come to associate with most IPAs. My boyfriend insists it’s the “steak of beer” and is upset I only ordered one can. 10/10 we both recommend.

Love this! Pineapple juice bomb that does not drink like a 12.5% Quad IPA. So drinkable you could easily get in lots of trouble 😈

It's definitely a QIPA. The high ABV gives it an alcoholic aftertaste and too much malt sweetness for me.

A beer so strong and sweet getting to the bottom was a challenge. 12.5 abv makes it worth while.

Smell- Pineapple, orange, melon. Look- Vibrant flavor, pineapple, ripe melon, clementine, sweet/boozy finish. Feel- Full body, soft, low bitterness, smooth, below average carbonation, sweet/boozy finish. Overall- Delightful beer with massive flavor.

Perfect selection of hops but think it was too ambitious to make this beer at such a high ABV. The adjuncts used to make the high ABV took away from what the hops would have added. However, I drank the whole beer and enjoyed the buzz.
