A Note on This Beer
Holy cats! I’m so excited right now I can barely think straight. Gabe Fletcher of Anchorage Brewing is finally re-releasing today’s foudre-aged An Eternity Brett Saison with Marionberries!
This fruity brew was first made as a collaboration with Portland’s Gigantic Brewing, because Marionberries are grown all over Oregon and they’ve got the hookup and the know-how. That’s two beloved Northwest craft houses working together to create a kick-ass PNW-style original. So of course I’m excited!
It took a full year in French Oak to get this good, and I’ve been on the edge of my seat the whole time!
The first time we managed to grab a few cases, Eternity Marionberry was rated 4.09 by Tavour members. Not surprising since Anchorage has a string of 4+ BA-rated Saisons under their belt and Gigantic snagged a medal for their Brett Beers from the World Beer Cup.
Tell any lover of Saisons or fruity brews that you’ve scored a bottle of Brett Saison made with 10,000 lbs of Oregon grown marionberries and they’ll beg for a taste. Tell them it was made by these two craft powerhouses and they might raid your beer fridge!
This watermelon-hued Saison is bursting with five tons of marionberries, which is basically the blackberry lovechild of blueberries and raspberries. Two different Brett strains are boosted by oakiness from the foudre-aging, adding zippy earthiness to sparkling Brett complexity.
An Eternity Marionberry is only available in Anchorage’s taproom and right here on Tavour, so this is a rare chance to snag a bottle without loading up the dogsled and heading to Alaska. Just make sure to savor every drop, because once this batch is gone there’s no telling when (or if) it will come back around.
