A Note on This Beer
In reference to today’s brightly tangy Apricot Meerts, one BeerAdvocate user said, “One of the very best American-made Sours I've ever had.”
That’s quite the compliment! Although, this brew isn’t just a Sour — it’s a spontaneously fermented, Lambic-like Meerts, or as some say, “Bière de Mars.” Supremely sippable, this style is fermented with natural yeast for fresh, complex flavors that merge citrus and funk.
And there’s only a handful of blenderies (or breweries) in the world that still make this style!
Funk Factory Geuzeria is one of them, and they’re the Sour-focused, oak foeder-lovin’ masterminds behind today’s stonefruity Meerts. It’s aged on juicy apricots, and it’s one of the very first beers we’ve ever had from this small Wisconsin team!
We only have 130 bottles of Apricot Meerts though, so grab it quick for your taste of this rare style!
