A Note on This Beer
Today, at Tavour: I’ve got a treat for you, friends. The group’s eyes light up. No, it’s not Hill Farmstead. The group’s eyes roll. It might just be better.
Snorts. Whatever! Nothing could make us second-guess our love for Shaun Hill’s Wild Ales!
What if I told you Shaun got together with Gabe Fletcher from our big-flavor, small-batch brewery friends, Anchorage Brewing?
No way! Gabe’s totally off-the-cuff. An Alaskan Wild Man. I think my mouth just started watering...
Philip snaps his fingers. Bingo! Ever heard of Grassroots Brewing?
Yes! That’s Hill Farmstead’s collab branch! Did you really get us Arctic Saison? They squeal like little girls on a soccer team.
That’s right! Feast your tastebuds on this 5th batch, 2016 vintage, fermented in foeders with a blend of Saison and Brett yeasts.
Yo, Phil, I bet even you don’t know where Gabe and Shaun got their Brett.
Philip sighs. True. Those guys are both from Vermont; built their breweries at the same time; and now they’ve created a veritable Secret of the Brewtherhood of key ingredients.
Can you please stop talking? I need time to bask in this herbal elixir...are you tasting that coriander and Meyer lemon?
Yeah, but it’s so much more funky than that! There are black pepper notes in here, too.
Apparently Gabe takes this exact beer on his boating expeditions to keep him on his toes.
That’s such a good idea! Can we request a boat on Lyft?
Philip throws up his hands. Try it! Get outta’ here! There’s barely enough of this limited-edition Saison for Tavour members! And I’ll need another sip before you funk fiends drink it all…
