About This Beer
Even if you’re a serious Belgian Beer connoisseur, you’ve never tried a Tripel quite like this.
First off, it clocks in at a staggering 13.2% ABV — that places it among the booziest beers we’ve ever seen in the style. But that’s not entirely surprising coming from the high ABV heroes at River North. We regularly get double-digit beers from this legendary Denver brewery!
What really sets this Tripel apart is the aging process. The brewers aged it on charred Aspen wood previously used to condition rye whiskey!
Tasting Notes
The wood adds hints of slightly smoky char, with nuances of spicy rye that compliment the base beer’s flavors of clove and banana. And even with that massively boozy backbone, it goes down shockingly smooth.

each sip tastes like a warm caramel apple cider with whiskey notes at first, at least that’s the impression.. however when you really get into it there’s notes of Clove and banana, wood spice, rye whiskey notes. sweet but not cloying. very flavorful. a nice one to take your time drinking.

Unlike any tripel I’ve had before… but in a good way. The typical sweet notes of a tripel are combined with some charred smokey notes. It shouldn’t work but it really did for me.
