A Note on This Beer

The last time we featured Junkyard’s juicy Cheat Codes, all you Tavour members gulped up those monster cans faster than we could tell you which buttons to press!

So, for today’s Australian Cheat Codes Hazy IPA, we’re going to attempt to slow you down a bit by explaining all of the delicious details using Aussie slang as code words.

Rort: Cheat. You could definitely call it cheating — Junkyard used 100% mango, pineapple, and passion fruit-flooded Australian Hops. The Vic Secret, Galaxy, and Enigma hop bill is no mystery, but how they got a hold of such massive amounts of these super sought-after cones sure is!

Fossick: Search / rummage. Beer nerds scramble to find these wine bottle-sized 25.4oz cans of thick, hop-nectar everywhere outside of Minnesota. Even at Junkyard’s taproom, these puppies don’t last long. And, today’s measly 45-case stash won’t either.

Walkabout: Wander off. We understand if you’ve had a long day/week/2020, and you need to go on a walkabout to clear your head. But, with a giant, 10.6% ABV can of Australian Cheat Codes in your pack, you’ll have enough hop-juice to get you through an entire day-hike!

Tangerine and others hit you in the face, then a bitter bite on the tongue with pine finish. Do we need 750ml mini keg of something this strong? Perhaps not, but I did finish it. As the art depicts - a kick in the head.

Didn’t care for the bitter taste, can’t pinpoint it but it’s almost a musty Smokey taste. Very boozy and strong as indicated.

Better than the last one from junkyard I ordered. The other one was undrinkable, so a very low bar to beat. Save your money, these are not worth it IMO.

Big and boozy; Thick, rich, and hearty body like down home chilli; The aftertaste is this pungent, smoky, deeply earthy mouth filling avalanche; It's like when you can hear a thunderstorm coming from miles away; it's muffled but deeply resinous, like your upstairs neighbor dropping a heavy toolbag wrapped in thick cloth on the hardwood floors in a cave. And before the dankness descends, the start of each sip envelopes the palate in sickly sweet tropical malaise.

Uh oh ... a 25+ Ounce NE TIPA... citrusy Vic Secret, Galaxy and Enigma but also interestingly enough it’s kinda smoky. Night night.

Big 750ml can from Tavour. Pours a nice thick, murky mustard color with a thin cap of foamy head. Aroma is overripe fruit and a ton of hops. Taste is a full on hop assault, dank and bitter, citrus peel, melon, pine. A real kick in the mouth. Plenty of warmth too, at 10.5%.

Mango fruit forward, slight citrusy for a triple IPA this crushed. Very little bitterness, super juicy for only using hops this was amazing!
