A Note on This Beer
For dark beer fans Black Friday means 13% ABV Bourbon Barrel-Aged Fremont B-Bomb release day. For everyone who can’t make it to their taproom, it means digging through their cellars for Hunahpu, vintage BCBS, or any whales worthy to trade for it. Today’s boozy Winter seasonal holds a cabinet full of awards and is ranked the #4 Strong Ale in the world on BeerAdvocate. Its accolades have placed it in such high demand we’re forced to limit it to only 1 bottle per member.
B-Bomb is aged in 12-year-old American Oak Bourbon barrels and is a blend of 9, 12, and 24-month old barrel strength Winter Ales. Experience how masterful barrel-aging develops as you breathe in aromas of woody vanilla caramel. Indulge and you’ll taste sweet Bourbon, oak, dark cacao, dried figs, new leather, and roasty dark coffee.
Mmmm… If I could, I’d clone myself five times over just to bypass the bottle limit and get my gloves on five B-Bombs this year. Here’s what I’d do with each one:
Bottle 1 - Invite over that friend that won’t stop blabbing about Bourbon County and share with them the secrets of Northwest independent dark beer craftsmanship.
Bottle 2 - Cellar one for a year and taste it side by side with next year’s release.
Bottle 3 - Use one as trade-bait. B-Bomb has super high value in trading forums, I’ve never had Three Floyd’s Dark Lord -- I think I’d lock down one of those.
Bottle 4 - Bring one home for the holidays and convert my macro-beer drinking but also Bourbon-loving father into a B-Bomb enthusiast.
Bottle 5 - Cellar for 5 years. I’m not joking, B-Bomb is a rare breed of cellarable that continues to unleash new dark fruit flavors even after years of aging.
Don’t hibernate on grabbing B-Bomb, even with its 1 bottle per member limit they’ll be gone in a flash!
