A Note on This Beer
I loved going to my Aunt’s house. So what if the whole place was covered in weird clown decorations? She baked maple apple crumbles that were TO DIE for.
I haven’t tasted those beautiful flavors since I was a kid — until today! The Oregonians at Cascade Brewing have me all nostalgic for that sumptuous treat.
To craft their Baked Apple Sour, they took their Sour Wheat Ale base and aged it in oak barrels and foudres for an entire year. After that, they infused the beer with freshly pressed, Oregon-sourced apple juice, cinnamon, and maple syrup for a brew that would frankly make Aunt Monica jealous.
Crisp, refreshing apple flavors start the sip, with warming baking spices lingering on the back. The light sweetness of the maple cuts through after, dancing with tinges of oak.
It’s a delicate dessert worth savoring, but be careful — we only have 10 cases to go around. Like your family’s secret dessert, it’ll likely be gone soon!
