A Note on This Beer
Washington’s Ya Ya Brewing is only a year and half old, but this little brewery is already doing big things.
That should come as no surprise. Co-founder Jason Gass worked at Maine’s beloved Austin Street Brewing. And, while he and his brother Chris developed their skills, they got to bounce ideas off their friends at Foundation, Battery Steel, and Bissel Brothers!
Now, all that knowledge and expertise has paid off with today’s Barrel Aged By & By — their first oak-aged Stout!
To create it, the brewers at Ya Ya filled oak Whiskey barrels with their beloved Milk Stout base back in September of 2020. During 6 full months resting on wood, the brew picked up hints of maple syrup, caramel, and raisins. Flavors that blended beautifully with the notes of real chocolate and cinnamon that they infused into the base beer.
Almost no one has even tried it yet, but those lucky early tasters are totally smitten. Like @Silverio C. who exclaims “what a beer!” and @Shawna P. who says it’s simply “WOW!!!”
As you might expect with a brand new, limited release from an artisanal brewery, our supply of this brew is itty-bitty. If you want to be able to say you were there right at the beginning of Ya Ya’s rise to fame, you’ll have to act fast.
