About This Beer
Fans clamour for this release every year, and there’s never enough to go around. It cellars fantastically well, gaining more chocolatey flavor while subduing the spice.
Tasting Notes
It’s like a spiked Mexican hot chocolate — a little sweet, a little spicy, plenty of fudgy goodness, and a bit of roasty coffee. It’s also incredibly smooth for 11% ABV.

Very pungent and slaps you in the face with flavor! This one is definitely for a sophisticated palette!

BA goes well with this beer

Bourbon dominates the initial flavor with a slow late heat in the back of the throat. Minor cinnamon notes but vanilla disappears too quickly below the whiskey and heat. Good choice with ginger molasses cookies.

Great mix of all flavors! Spicy thick and bold with a boozy kick.

Insanely well balanced stout with a perfect amount of chili burn on the back-end. Extremely impressed with this beer. It showed an incredible amount of finesse

One of my favorite chili beers. I prefer a little more great, but it was so well balanced that I didn't care.

Good tasting stout but doesn’t live up to the flavors. Definitely need the peppers to come thru more

The spice was surprising but it seemed to be all this had.

Smooooth!

The only thing keeping it from scoring a perfect score is alcohol warmth was high on the finish. That might have been enhanced but the heat of the peppers, but it distracted from the drinkability.

Too heavy. Coats the glass. Had it compared to Prairie Artisan Christmas Ale. Both beers had similar tasting notes and close ABV. Compared to Prairie Artisan this beer lacks depth and flavor notes.
