About This Beer
The French didn’t invent French toast — it was the Romans who first stumbled upon the bready breakfast delicacy in 300 A.D. But ‘Roman toast’ just doesn't have the same... how do you say? Je ne sais quoi (pardon my French).
Now Hubbard’s Cave has taken this global breakfast staple and done it up in their own Chicago style with their Barrel Aged French Toast Imperial Stout!
Tasting Notes
Dangerously smooth sips from this bottle belie its 13% ABV as sticky-sweet maple syrup and spicy cinnamon wash over the taste buds. Bourbon barrel heat is smoothed over by velvety ribbons of vanilla and sweet lactose, finishing each supple gulp like a perfectly placed vanilla anglaise over its bold breakfast body.

surprisingly smooth for how strong it is. I’m not a huge fan of BBA, but this was really good. Split a bottle with my wife, and I think I was still ready to drink more.

Fucking delicious! All the flavors shine through, especially the cinnamon and maple syrup ending with a nice warm, creamy, bourbon finish.

Maple syrup, cinnamon and bourbon develops into sweet vanilla and rich maple syrup, finish has a flash of booze and some dark chocolate. It’s more rich than sweet.
