A Note on This Beer
I just watched a video of an enormous bearded dude utterly destroying cans of Macro beer with a freakin’ broadsword. And I gotta say, it warmed my heart.
Wanna see? Just find Heathen Brewing on social media. Or better yet, head to their Washington brewpub, order yourself a bottle of today’s award-winning Bourbon Barrel-Aged Highland Charge Scotch Ale, and ask for Danny.
He’s the operations manager down there, and if you buy him a couple rounds, he might let you take a stab at it.
After a few pints of BBA Highland Charge, you’ll definitely be up for some swordplay. This 11% ABV brew is maybe the most badass beer these burly brewers make, and past vintages have gold medals from the North American Brewers Association and the Washington Beer Awards to prove it.
Pour BBA Highland Charge into the helmet of a vanquished enemy and revel in its bold aromas of molasses and toffee. Take a big swig, and let its flavors of dried black cherries, dates, and caramel swarm across your palate. Marvel at its warm whiskey vanilla finish before taking another gulp. As the Heathen team says, it’ll blow your kilt off!
If you can’t make it out to Washington to hack up Macro Lagers with Danny, we can hook you up with a couple bottles of BBA Highland Charge right here on Tavour. Just don’t be surprised if it makes you wanna go Braveheart on some crappy cans.
Tavour strictly supports independent beer. Heathen Brewing is certified independent by the Brewers Association
