About This Beer
After a pint of today’s BA Scotch-style Red Ale, I feel like I could throw on a kilt and win one of those competitions where you lift big rocks or hurl logs.
Could I actually do those things? No. Of course not. I would definitely mess up my back. But with this bourbon barrel aged brew in my belly, my confidence knows no bounds.
Tasting Notes
Layers of caramel malt, hints of oaky vanilla, and overtones of sweet bourbon flow through every sip. On the finish, a pop of spicy rye leads to bready flavors from toasty grains.

For anyone looking for that whiskey nose and palate in a well crafted beer….here you go. It’s not for me, but I can see how this could go onto someone’s tops list.

Red ales are a rarity for me, but the smooth whiskey and caramel undertones throughout this one were worth giving a try.

I prefer stout to reds, but this was quite tasty! The bourbon barrel aging really shines through.

Boozy, malty, very heavy (which is a very good thing!), quite smooth for how boozy it was, and mildly sweet.

I enjoyed this. Great Smokey flavor with a good red ale tang. I would get this again
