- “Is it chocolate orange or a Jaffa cake? I don't know and to be honest, I really don't give a s***. It's f***ing amazing.” @Allan S.
Imagine sipping on a decadent dark chocolate orange accentuated with elegant whispers of woody spice and you have a decent idea what’s in store with today’s treat. Only no chocolate orange I’ve ever had has boasted a 13.8% ABV!
To craft it, the clever crew at Cerebral started with a rich cocoay base before aging it 27 to 32 months in a blend of 14-year Old Forrester and Buffalo Trace Experimental bourbon barrels. Then they conditioned it on orange zest, Ghanaian cacao nibs, and Comorian vanilla.
Citrusy aromas erupt out of every thick, syrupy pour. On the swig, nuances of Godiva liqueur cascade into vibrant Triple Sec and creme brûlée. Vanilla rounds it all out with a little creamsicle flair, gorgeously blending into tones of oak on the finish.
Whether you serve this one up as dessert or show it off at the bottle share, this boozy chocolate orange is sure to impress. But careful — it tastes so much like a creamy confection, you might forget it’s actually booze!
This brew is too new for scores, but the whole BA Safe Word series boasts an average 4.39 UT rating!
