Not sure what to say about this. I would like to think I have a pretty advanced palate, and Im pretty well versed in the world of dark beer. Opened the bottle I had eagerly awaited, hit hard in the nose with a blast of rich, sweet banana. My excitement hit a new peak for this beer. Sadly, that was the only hint of banana I got the rest of the way through. Very bitter, very sour overall. Almost tasted like I got a bad bottle, and let it sit in the sun on a hot day. All my barrel aged beers are stored in a cellar that maintains a constant 57°. This beer didnt even get a chance to see my cellar. I drank it the night I got it. Absolutely, without doubt, the WORST stout I have ever encountered. I currently have well over 100 stored stouts, so I say again I believe Im pretty well versed in these beers. Benefit of the doubt is given, as I believe I got an improperly stored bottle or just a bad bottle in general. It was so bad that I am afraid to open the second bottle I got. Sink pour. I truly hope your experience with this bottle is better than mine was, and I truly hope I just got a bad bottle and this is not the quality of product that you can expect from Alpha Acid.

Decently balanced for a high abv stout. Very good barrel character but something about the Banana tasted off. Could only really stomach 1 glass and had to pour the rest. Disappointed.
