A Note on This Beer
The first beer they ever brewed, B/A/Y/S [black as your soul] Russian Imperial Stout encapsulates Adroit Theory’s dark philosophy, and today’s newest batch resounds with flavorful depth from years of fine-tuning. If you’re twisted enough to take on this beast, drinking it will make you ask yourself, “Was the darkness in the bottle, or was it in me all along?”
The Tavour community reveled in B/A/Y/S’ thunderous roasts, giving the previous two vintages an average 4.08 score. Now this 10% ABV monster has emerged from the blackness once more. Its bittersweet power is a force to be reckoned with, even for disciples of roasty intensity. Can you handle it?
Adroit Theory must have summoned the dark lord Sauron to conjure the flavorful leagues of 85% dark chocolate, maduro cigars, espresso, roasted hazelnuts, dark cherries, and scorched earthiness that reside in B/A/Y/S. A singe of boozy heat arises in the finish, only to slink back into the shadows with a hint of toasted marshmallows glimpsing through the flame.
For Tavour, the cinderous roasts and tobacco notes of B/A/Y/S unlocked the gates of madness to Virginia’s Adroit Theory. Once we tasted its cavernous dark cacao depths, we were entranced by their Dark Beer power -- and we never want to go to the light side again.
