A Note on This Beer
For most, Phantasm Powder is an elusive hop mystery. For Anchorage Brewing, it’s yet another reason why they’re trailblazers in the craft scene.
See, the Alaskan brewers are one of only a handful of breweries around the world to receive the newest and most exciting innovation in the hop-loving business, Phantasm Powder.
Straight out of New Zealand, Phantasm is made from freeze-dried Sauvignon Blanc grape skins. These skins have a ton of Thiols in them — the same stuff that produces hops’ aromatic characteristics!
Today’s Beneath the Waters IPA comes chock full of these aromatic Thiol bombs, along with a dose of Strata, Citra, and Mosaic Hops!
The result is a revolutionary step in the olfactory component of beer drinking.
Dank pine aromas swirl at the beginning of every sip with massive punches of pithy grapefruit rinds and lemon zest. When you take the sip, the hefty aromas are mellowed by a super smooth, pillowy body with juicy melon flavors filling the palate.
With no bitter kick to speak of, the drink tempts you to raise the glass once more, inviting those tantalizing and never-more-present aromas to emerge again from Beneath the Waters.
