A Note on This Beer
Last year, when we managed to score a stash of Bière Du Pays (blend 8), you all loved it. You loved it so much, in fact, you rated it an extraordinary 4.46 on Tavour!
No surprise there! This delightful Saison comes from Missouri's Side Project Brewing, the #3 Brewery in the World on Untappd (if you don’t count Meaderies, and why would we?)
Plus, it’s one of BeerAdvocate’s Top 50 Saisons in the World.
Add a bottle of today’s Bière Du Pays (Blend 9) to your collection, and you’ll have something to impress even the snobbiest of your beer geek buddies. This stuff earns a perfect 100/100 from Craft Beer and Brewing, where they love its “fruity notes with tart lime, grapefruit, and a light spiciness.”
And when Side Project announced this latest release, hopeful fans offered up trades from Treehouse, Trillium, and Aslin for a sip!
But once you get a whiff of the brew’s tangy, citrusy, slightly oaky aromas, you’re not going to want to trade it for anything — especially when you find out that we only have 240 bottles!
Side Project creates the slightly funky lemon zest and stone fruit flavors of Bière Du Pays by fermenting with wild yeast from the Missouri countryside AND their own Saison yeast. Aging in neutral-oak wine barrels adds woody nuances and a slight hint of vanilla, along with a very subtle vinous character.
So snag a bottle of Bière Du Pays while you can. Once our tiny stash is gone, who knows when (or if) we’ll get more.
