Here comes Epic Brews, here comes Epic Brews, right down Epic Brews lane!
Okay, Epic Brewing may not be Santa Claus, but I’m so excited about their 2020 Imperial Stout release that I’ve been waiting by the fireplace in my footie pajamas, determined to catch the arrival of these magical beers!
And, since it’s the season of giving, I can’t wait to wrap them up and share ‘em with all you dark beer fans! If you’ve been extra good this year, here’s what you can expect in this boozy bundle:
Big Bad Baptist
The one that started it all, Big Bad Baptist is a luscious Imperial Stout brewed with dark roast coffee from their buddies at nearby Corvus Coffee Roasters. The brewers added heaps of cocoa nibs, then aged it in Whiskey barrels.
You guys loved the last batch so much, you rated it a whopping 4.31 on Tavour!
The scent is an aromatic bouquet of roasted coffee and cocoa. Each sip wraps my tongue in a cozy blanket of oaky bourbon, vanilla, espresso, and burnt sugar, so I can stay warm by the fire long after the last embers have burned out.
Bigger Badder Baptista
Toss a little spice into your holiday with Bigger Badder Baptista, a Mexican twist on the classic BBB. The brewers crafted it with Corvus Roasters coffee, cacao, cinnamon, and vanilla, then aged it in a combination of Whiskey and Mezcal barrels.
Taste the velvety goodness of this drinkable dark chocolate, and feel the festive flavors of cinnamon and coffee tickle your tongue! Just be careful — its fiesta-worthy 11.3% ABV might have you singing ‘Feliz Navidad’ well into the wee hours!
Big Bad Baptist Chocolate Raspberry
For all the lovers who can’t wait to meet up under the mistletoe, the brewers crafted this Imperial Stout with 10 gallons per barrel of tart, juicy raspberries, heaps of rich dark chocolate, and roasted coffee beans.
They aged it in Whiskey barrels, and each sip oozes with the decadent flavors of chocolate-covered berries and bourbon-spiked coffee.
And, with its romance-inspiring 11.6% ABV, this bottle is definitely one worth sharing.
Big Bad Baptist Sextuple
The icing on the gingerbread house of this year’s release, Sextuple is a beautifully nuanced Imperial Stout aged in Whiskey barrels with barrel-aged coffee beans from Blue Copper Coffee in Salt Lake City.
Epic’s clever elves also aged cacao, coconut, almonds, and salt in Whiskey barrels before combining them in this brew, for flavors that shine like the North Star on Christmas eve.
The taste is like savoring a creamy almond joy or a sea salt-dusted truffle, followed by a swig of top-shelf bourbon.
This year, make the holidays Epic with these seasonal sippers! Just keep in mind that once these stocking stuffers are gone, there’s no telling if Epic’s little elves will be able to whip up some more.
