A Note on This Beer
The British may have introduced IPAs to the world, but did you know they actually condemned hops as a “wicked and pernicious weed” when the Dutch first brought them over from Holland!?
The Dutch also brought hops to America 200 years later, and now American growers are unbeatable hop masters! Breweries around the world rely on American-grown hops, especially those grown by the great Yakima Chief Hops.
These guys recently developed a brand-new, secret hop blend to bring out incredibly big, extra juicy flavors in an IPA. And they teamed up with the innovative IPA masters at Colorado’s New Image to showcase it for you!
New Image took that proprietary hop blend and paired it up with loads of Citra and Motueka Hops — two of the fruit-juiciest varietals out there. The result: today’s potently citrusy and smooth Bio-T Experimental Hop IPA!
We begged and pleaded, but the award-winning* brewers at New Image won’t reveal the secret mix of hops! After a few tastes, here’s our speculation:
- The succulently ripe notes of mangoes make us think of Azacca Hops.
- Brilliant bursts of sweet meyer lemons and passionfruit conjure juicy Galaxy Hops.
- And, could those hints of lavender and kushy honeydew be a sign of Simcoe and Nelson Sauvin?
Whatever they are, you’re gonna want to grab some cans of Bio-T now so you can explore this newest hop blend yourself!
