A Note on This Beer
Today’s Birds of a Feather IPA is the first Lamplighter brew we ever tried at Tavour, and we’ve been aflutter ever since. In a sea of New England Hazies, this Double Dry-Hopped little birdy flies above the crowd with its ultra juicy, orange-grapefruit and tropical fruit notes.
We remember the day when our beer hunter migrated back from a trip to Boston with his suitcase loaded to the 50 lb limit with cans of this majestic Hazy. He discovered this gem after reading a feature in the Boston Globe:
“Visit Cambridge’s Lamplighter Brewing Co. in the evening or on a weekend and lines out the door are a regular occurrence.” He figured if Lamplighter draws crowds like this for their Hazy IPAs where the style was first hatched, he had to swoop in for a taste!
He followed the flock of Boston locals and Harvard students to the Lamplighter taproom, where juicy IPAs are sipped like hoppy nectar. He took in the cozy community vibe, drinking pint after pint of Birds of a Feather. The 6.8% ABV dank papaya flavor-soaked fan-favorite made him feel as fuzzy as a duckling. Even after visiting juicebomb legends like Tree House and Trillium, he knew right then and there that he’d return to the Northwest laden with as many Lamplighter libations as he could carry.
Once the Tavour team tasted this juicy brew, we knew Lamplighter had earned a spot at the front of our flock. With each fresh batch of Birds of a Feather, our love for this Massachusetts brewery is reborn. And once you try this authentic New England IPA, you’ll wonder how Lamplighter has flown under your radar until now.
