A Note on This Beer
Cracking open a classy can from Speciation Artisan Ales’ Incipient series feels like the first sign of spring. Today’s seasonal variation bursts with the refreshing flavor of ripe blackberries!
The World Beer Cup medalists at Speciation create the Incipient series using their Golden Sour Wheat Ale base — which they brew in the Solera method. The process involves continually blending various ages of Sour Ales and re-aging the fusion in a cask foeder. This imparts added layers of complexity and, in the words of the brewers, “the deepest expression” of funky tanginess!
For Blackberry Incipient (2021), they added gallons of blackberry concentrate to make each gulp gush with a bloom of fresh berries. It tastes like the brewers raided a sun-ripened blackberry patch and squeezed all that succulent juice right into your glass!
Those who’ve tried a tart and tangy taste love it — the last two versions of Blackberry Incipient hold eye-popping 4.22 and 4.29 UT-ratings, respectively.
This is the newest batch, and it might be the best yet! But, move quickly for your first tastes of this springy sipper — we only have 15 cases to share for all of Tavour!
