A Note on This Beer
The Truth: I’d rather pull weeds for hours than go to the mall. Unless, of course, that mall contains an Orange Julius.
In that case, I’d be happy to drive you there, piggy-back you in, and pay for two thick ‘n’ creamy citrus smoothies to share!
But, thanks to the brew specialists at The Separatist Beer Project, I won’t have to journey to the center of the outlet store-labyrinth anytime soon. ‘Cause their brand new Blood Orange Smoosh Smoothie Style IPA floods the taste buds with even more tropical-fruit flavor. And, it’s got a rockin’ 7.8% ABV to boot!
First, the brewers hop and double dry-hop it with heaps of Mosaic and Centennial Hops for ultra-tangy waves of sweet papaya flavor, balanced by whispers of pithy grapefruit and a hint of pine resin.
And, unlike the classic orange-flavored Orange Julius, they pack the entire batch with nectarous blood oranges atop swells of velvety vanilla and lush lactose.
What’s so special about the blood orange, you ask? Well, besides its gorgeously bright, crimson color, it has a raspberry-like sweetness which effortlessly rounds out its strong citrusy tang.
You don’t have to venture to the depths of the mall for some liquified creamsicle (featuring regular-ol’ orange flavor). A can of Blood Orange Slush, a little sunshine, and a comfy chair is really all you need!
