A Note on This Beer
If there’s any brewery that keeps me on the edge of my seat just imagining what crazy flavors they’re going to tackle next, it’s Wisconsin’s Untitled Art.
After all, these guys made a raspberry cheesecake-inspired IPA, a coconut cream pie Blonde Stout, and even infused Sour Patch Kids into a freakin’ GRISETTE!
Which is why I was stoked to hear that they’ve teamed up with Untappd’s #11 Brewery in the World — Horus Aged Ales — to bring a little bit of Cali’s warmer weather to the Midwest. Introducing today’s ultra-daring Blue Hawaiian Sour!
Just like the name suggests, this pour is magnificently blue AND captures the tropical tanginess of a Blue Hawaiian you’d order from a tiki bar — minus the corny cocktail umbrella.
That’s because it was brewed with real acai berries, coconut, and pineapple! And after a few sips of this blue crusher, you might even be tempted to rock your best Hawaiian print shirt at the New Year’s Eve Party!
Pour the can into a tulip glass and marvel at the Smurf-like hue while taking in aromas of tropical coconut. Mouth-puckering berry and tart passionfruit notes mingle with pineapple juice on the palate for an irresistible interplay between sweet and sour. Coconut lingers on the end, mellowing out the finish on this 4.7% ABV fruit punch.
So go ahead, have yourself a blue Christmas with some cans of this tropical Sour collab. Just be sure to check that it didn’t stain your tongue before you take any photos.
