How does a blueberry-tangerine fruit smoothie sound right now? Pretty great, right?

Now, what if I told you that that blueberry-tangerine fruit smoothie was ALSO a Citra-hopped juicebomb?

I’ll bet your mouth just started watering like Niagara Falls. When I first heard about today’s Blue Velvet Ripple Sorbet IPA from Energy City, mine sure did!

They brew this delectable fruit smoothie IPA with heaps of blueberries and ripe tangerines for a juicy swirl of sweet citrus and tangy berries. Then, they add vanilla to make every sip even more luxuriant and silky.

It drinks milkshake-thick, but it’s totally lactose-free. It really does taste as though those Chicago brewmasters at Energy City blended up a glass of fresh-squeezed OJ with a hefty dollop of blueberry sorbet.

A fruit-loaded sipper like this is best enjoyed whenever the heck you want it: dessert time, breakfast time, at the beach, on the porch. Shoot, this might be one of the best shower beers you’ll ever find!

But, that’s the thing — you’ll only find it at the brewery and right here. So, if a blueberry-tangerine fruit smoothie is what you’re after, you’d better lock in some Blue Velvet Ripple now!

I HATE IPAs. Now having said that, I tried this based on the picture. I dont like bitter, hense why I dont like IPAs. This beer is hardly bitter, you barely know its there. Its so fruity and fantastic. I wish I would have gotten more than 2.

POSSIBLY THE TASTIEST DESSERT BEER I’VE EVER HAD. HOLY MOSES!! So fricken smooth and all that berry punch with hints of vanilla are just unbelievably delicious.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. So much thick, fruit flavor. I have half a mind to try freezing this into popsicles. This was an amazing dessert beer. Wish I got more.

Totally redeemed themselves! Last I had from Energy City was Hop Nawi; gave that a rating of 1. But wow is this good. Terrific mouthfeel, slammed with blueberry and tangerine, hint of vanilla yet IPA hop breaths through. Good one mates!

Blueberry alright! Tangerine comes through a little too prominently. Vanilla is present. Thick.

It really does taste like a Sorbet. Doesn’t have the “ipa” notes but still a must have. I will definitely buy anything from this brewer as we had the orange as well and 6/5 stars all the way.

Okay. This is amazing. There’s literally no other word to describe it. It’s smoothie-like texture was amazing. The flavor blending was amazing. It was just plain amazing. I can’t wait to see more Energy City cans available!
