A Note on This Beer
Today’s labor of love exemplifies Side Project’s commitment to great beer.
To make their third batch EVER of Blueberry Flanders Ale, this skilled team fermented the base beer in French Oak Foeders for a total of 4 years. Using the Solera Method, they blended different aged brews in the barrels to create complex tastes with an assortment of funk and dynamic flavor.
After the 4-year waiting period, they added over 4000 POUNDS of fresh blueberries into the mix, and re-fermented and matured THAT brew over the course of several months. Finally, they bottled the beer and allowed it to naturally condition in-bottle for 7 MORE months — allowing the yeasts and adjuncts to present themselves in every taste.
Deliciously tart punches swirl with a subtle funk, and jammy notes of grape skins linger on the tongue. Each sophisticated quaff proves that all that work was worth it..
