A Note on This Beer
I could throw stats at you about Fremont Brewing’s Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Star. I could tell you that Paste Mag blind tested barrel aged Stouts, only to declare Dark Star #1 out of 144. I could rave about the 4.47 rating on Untappd, the 4.74/5 rating from the Tavour community. I could sing the extensive accolades Dark Star has accumulated.
It still wouldn’t do this 14.5% ABV whisky & chocolate indulgence justice.
Bourbon Barrel Aged Dark Star tastes like a dark chocolate truffle filled with bourbon toffee cream. Silky smooth, this medley of 8, 12, and 18-month old Dark Star is aged to oaky perfection in 12-year old Kentucky whisky barrels.
Seattleites line up around the block year after year for the latest Dark Star release, hoping to taste this rich, pitch-black caramel-cocoa brew and maybe snag a few bottles (if you can make it in time). We called in every favor to grab a small stash of this limited masterpiece -- we practically fight off everyone at the Tavour headquarters so they don't drink it all! So snag this while you can; it won’t last long.
