Very smooth. Not thick but rich. Well done barrel with the maple syrup and some cocoa. Yum.

This is how barrel aged adjunct stouts are supposed to be! Every adjunct is there, along with the bourbon, barrel and imperial stout flavors one would expect all without making it overly sweet. Well done!

This beer is the best chocolate barrel aged beer I have ever had! To me this beer would be a cross between Sierra Nevada’s barrel aged Norwall and goose islands barreled age Bourbon Stout. It is very smooth and very creamy as it sits and gets to room temperature it almost taste like a chocolate milk. The maple is on the nose very heavy and as it sits and gets to room temperature the maple does come forward in every sip.

Very well made with a lot of flavor and personality but Too dark and chewy for my personal taste

Spectacular. A perfect balance of flavors and a boozy punch without being harsh. All the best parts of a stout

Best Dark Star I've had yet. Chocolate is dominant with just the touch of maple.

So good. The refinement is noticed. Smooth with a nice sweet but not overly done finish. Very well done.

Very very smooth!! Delicious, dark and thick!

I’m not a big fan of maple in beers, because it easily becomes cloying and it’s just not my thing. That said, rich vanilla, chocolate, and dark malts balance it well here. I went in skeptical but found myself pleased.

Purchased a year ago and cellar-aged one more year. Flavors still present, perhaps a little mellowed. Smooth taste throughout. Dessert-like.

Good chocolate notes at the start. Maple is blended in subtlety. Always the outstanding stout base.

awesome! I want to dip waffles in this

That’s like one of the sweetest, densest chocolate cakes I’ve ever taken a bite of. Stout’s bitterness and a hint of booze at the very end but believe me when I say this feels like I just put on 15 pounds and I’m not even upset about it

This is just stupid good! Aged 5 years and still has a very rich yet still subtle bourbon flavor with melodious notes of chocolate and vanilla with ever so slight maple syrup
