The brewers at Westbound & Down say today’s decadent Stout tastes like ‘creamy, silky, high-end hot chocolate with bourbon.” In other words, it tastes just like that steaming mug of cocoa you used to leave out for Santa, but after you went to bed and your dad spiked it.

At least, I’m pretty sure that’s what MY dad did.

That’s why this year, I’m slipping a bottle of Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout under his tree. As he’s watching his grandkids open presents, he can sip the vanilla mocha notes — I bet it will take him right back to those days of Christmas past. 

After a full 17 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels, each sip goes caroling across the taste buds with notes of whiskey caramel and oaky vanilla. It’s, rich, slightly roasty, and deceptively smooth for 15.7% ABV.

That’s why I WON’T be giving a bottle to my brother. I’m afraid he’ll forget about the booze, drink the whole thing on Christmas eve, and then doze off before he finishes stuffing his kid’s stockings. I’d just hate to see my nephews disappointed.
