Of course, if you’re like me, you’d probably still crack open a Mikkeller brew any day, even if you didn’t understand the name. This 2X Danish Brewery of the Year is so world-renowned, it’s almost impossible to find a global “Best” list that doesn’t include them.

BBA Traeblod offers a robust, complex taste as to why. Not only does this 15.4% ABV Imperial Stout boast maple syrup, but the brewers added coffee and aged it in bourbon barrels for oaky whiskey and roasty, dark mocha undertones.

Get a taste, and you’re gonna want to curl up for hours in roasty-toasty, maple heaven. Cheers!

Thick, dark, consistency with strong coffee and syrup flavor. Not cloyingly sweet, just present. The barrel perfectly melts right in. For me, goosebump inducing perfection. Man, I love stouts.....

Let it warm up a bit and it was delicious. Coffee up front and a strong maple finish.

It’s a boozy one for sure! Definitely pick up the solid notes of maple syrup which isn’t overwhelming, but good.

A dangerous ABV for such a good tasting beer. A pleasant coffee taste up front with a strong but not overpowering maple finish. Very rich, and warms the whole body. I still prefer Brandy aged Traeblood, but this has to be my 2nd Traeblood choice

Balanced flavor and smooth. Good thickness. On sweet side but short if syrupy (no pun intended). The 15% is dangerously hidden. Don't get much barrel or at least it's not boozy. A very solid beer but not as much a standout as others in this broad category.
