About This Beer
To start, Hardywood brews this 12% ABV monster in the same fashion as Belgium’s beloved monastic breweries, loading it up with rich malts that impart gorgeous notes of freshly baked bread. Then, they age it for months in freshly drained bourbon barrels,

Fantastic beer! Nice notes of caramel and brown sugar.
4.5
This is why I drink craft beer! BBA Quads are just expected to be lip-smackingly good and this was no exception. The booze and oak took nothing away from the caramel and spice of the base beer, but enhanced it instead. Probably the best product I’ve had from this brewer.
4.0
a good quad.
2.0
thin mouthfeel, not much barrel character. not the biggest fan of this one
3.75
Good barrel character but not as much Belgian flavor as I would’ve liked
2.0
There was an off taste. not sure if the beer was spoiled or a bad batch. There was a funky off taste taking away from
this beer.
4.5
Absolutely delicious.
2.5
Thin mouthfeel and somewhat harsh. Perhaps needs cellar time to mellow.
5.0
bourbon taste, light and smooth
3.25
Fruity, plus toffee, with coffee flavors
4.0
Toffee, dark cherry, & raisins in the nose. Deep, slightly dry quad flavors with more dried fruit and a bit of boozy heat. Lingering fruity flavors with hints of whiskey and vanilla. Not bad at all.
4.25
A beautiful bourbon flavor with a dark chocolate flavor, love it.
4.25
I felt this beer was quite delightful. Typically quad profile of figs, raisins, and caramel with a kiss of bourbon on the finish
4.5
Smooth quad: notes of raisins, cherry wood, molasses, resin, and Merlot flavors in the midst of a well rounded cacao and bourbon base. Not too sweet, not too boozy, and deceptive in its ABV.

very good

This was delicious. Like a Rochefort 10 with a slightly fruity note. Not sweet at all, but fruity.

Pretty solid, as usual.

I sniffed this and thought it was going to be ultra boozy. I was pleasantly surprised. The brown sugar gives it’s e ouch sweetness to balance it out. a lot of flavor. very pleasant drinking and not boozy. nice one 804!

Christ alive this thing kicked my ass. It hammers you right up front with a super heavy, boozy, bourbon flavor, and the finish is really similar to chasing a beer with a shot of bourbon. It’s not awful, but I couldn’t imagine getting it again.
3.5
hoped for more vanilla notes
4.0
Excellent beer, great job of blending the Cru with the barrel. very smooth and no single flavor is overwhelming. Everything just works.
