About This Beer
Every year, the Indiana crew finds new barrels to blend with their specialty Golden Ale.
This time, The GABF award-winners took their Gold Ale base and aged it in premium bourbon barrels. The result boasts a blend of rich, rounded malt flavors from the ale and oaky, dark spice from the barrel!
Tasting Notes
The opulent, smoky aromas complement flavors of bourbon caramel, swirling with the Golden Ale’s honey and sweet bread notes. Lingering wood and butterscotch finish with a flourish of satisfying, boozy bliss.

Gets boozier as it gets warmer. You should probably share this 12oz can.

Boozy, malty aroma with a bit of yeast on the nose. Rich with a bit of caramel on the palate. Lots of sweet, oaky vanilla and a bit of boozy heat towards the sweet, subtly bitter end.

like a golden ale on steroids. Flavor is amped way up, which is a good thing because it tastes great. Definitely packs a punch too.

excellent! balanced and the BBA makes it an incredible beer

Rich and sweet, very interesting style

6/7/21 an epically warming sipper. Drinks like orange liquor with a splash of vanillin, oaky bourbon. Uniquely Belgianesque.

For sure picked up the sweetness from the bourbon

Malty and boozy. And a nice subtle sweetness on the nose as it warms.

Definitely boozy and more barrel than I like.

A good, boozy and sweet ale.

better hold onto your top hat! wow this is an amazing brew.

Nice touch of sweetness and the bourbon barrel gives it an edge over it's non-bourbon brother. Recommend sipping it over time to get the full complexity of the flavor as it warms

would get a case of these if I could.

T
his beer tries to find a middle ground that just isn't there. I'd rather have a barley wine and I don't particularly like barley wine.

This one goes down like a boilermaker, complete with that punch! tasty and dangerous.

very good just wish it was a little less sweet

this was very tasty and a wee heavy.

The rich dark oak honey notes are the fore runner of this ale. Sweeter than anticipated, but very approachable and not overwhelming.

Holy Canoli batman! This thing packs a serious punch for a "golden ale". If you've ever mixed the big tub of coolaid with like 10 drops of water to create a sugar sludge..... this is the beer equivalent. It's a good time.
3.0
Syrupy sweetness made it tough to finish one.

a wee bit TOO much (of everything) for me personally… sugar sweet and boozy like a Mack truck
4.25
really nice, malty hop balance, oaky bourbon notes are a nice finish. hard not to drink just one. very strong

Surprised me. A new combination of flavors for me, a nice level of fruit with a bourbon back end. Definitely not a light tasting beer, intense flavors all the way through. worth savoring.

Bourbon-barrel aged and farmhouse yeast. What else could you ever ask for in a beer.

loved the no-sparge strength. I have had this for the past few years and this was the best in series so far. golden ale, strong, very rich falvors, esters on nose are pronounced.
4.0
sweet and a little tart, but solid golden ale. great drink

Sweet with notes of Carmel and toffee. Finish is smooth boozy and the bourbon comes on strong at the end.
Really good!

I’m impressed with this beer’s attributes. It’s sweet, malty, woody, and boozy highlights homogenize nicely and age well. I would love to find this on tap.

great balance of heavy malts notes while moderate on oak tannins, also has nice creamy mouthfeel that finishes with a light vanilla bourbon flavor
