About This Beer
Bourbon Barrel Tax Holiday is one of Taxman Brewing’s most prized beers, and it comes out just once a year, in teeny tiny batches! To craft this barrel-aged edition, the brewers take their already decadent Tax Holiday Ale and age it in hand-selected Bourbon Barrels. The barrel aging wraps the Holiday’s chocolate coated cherry notes in rich toffee and whiskey vanilla. The sweet complexity makes the 10.5% ABV feel just softly warming.
Tasting Notes
Rich currents of chocolate and cherry course through every silky sip of BB Tax Holiday. Bright accents of treacly toffee and soft vanilla carry after, courtesy of the barrel. It all tastes like a bowl of Cherry Garcia ice cream soaked in whiskey.

4.12/5 look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4 Poured from a 12 ounce can into a snifter. Look- Sudsy medium tan head, dark brown, average head retention and lacing. Smell- Bourbon, cherry, vanilla. Taste- Cherry, subtle bourbon, sweet from front end to finish. Feel- Between thin and medium body, mouth warming, mouth coating, below average carbonation, slightly creamy, smooth finish. Overall- Tasty, reminds me of bourbon and Cherry Coke.

Great sipping beer. Creamy texture with a subtle boozy Bourbon edge with chocolate, coffee and slight cheery taste. Real tasty.

Very boozy, honey doesn’t come through, which I like. Not bad but likely won’t get any beers from them again. Second time I’ve tried them and been underwhelmed

Not enough caramel, slightly too bitter. I prefer my homebrew BBA Belgian to this.

That...is what a barrel aged beer should be! Bourbon...check! Brown sugar notes...check! Balanced sweetness with booze...check! At "only" 10.5 (not bad for a BA Strong)...pass me another!!

Delicious. A solid BA Taxman ale, but with some delicious spices in the mix to warm up the whole thing a little more.
