About This Beer
To craft this beloved brew, Prairie Artisan Ales started with their chocolatey Stout base which they aged in bourbon barrels, steeping it all in vanilla oak. Then they accentuated those rich whiskey caramel notes with silky coconut and vanilla.
Tasting Notes
Decadent dark chocolate cascades into silky coconut cream on every thick quaff. Opulent accents of whiskey caramel and vanilla oak lift the Almond Joy like flavors, impeccably hiding the bold 13.7% ABV.

I get it but not for me. Too thick and boozy, I think 3 sips is enough for me to get the flavor and move on. If you are in to this type of beer I’m sure you will love it, strong chocolate flavor with the bourbon

Aroma hits you hard with sweet bourbon and lush vanilla beans. Flavor is bourbon, vanilla, and toasted coconut without being overly sweet. Great beer to savor for yourself of share with others.

It’s Prairie, what else need to be said? This stout is solid and what I’ve come to expect from this brewery. Well crafted with a nice viscous body. Nose is vanilla malt and bourbon. Mouthfeel is creamy with the coconut and vanilla blending in nicely with the oak bourbon barrel. Perfect to enjoy by the fire with your favorite Robusto! This is in my top 10 for sure! Thank you Tavour!

The boozy flavor is apparent up front. Dark notes of chocolate quickly follow. Definitely a slow sipper.

The 2020 bottle of bourbon paradise wasn’t paradise but was definitely boozy and bourbon. Look: black with small head and no lacing. Smell: bourbon up front, with some hints of chocolate (more as it warms), trailing vanilla but no coconut. Taste: sweet, booze and bourbon up front. Bren says the ethanol mountain is almost too steep to climb to get to the backend flavors on this one, but as we let it warm, we got bourbon in the middle, hints of chocolate and trailing notes of vanilla. If we REAALLLLLLy reach we get coconut. Feel: sweet, thick, full mouthfeel. Let it hang around and swirl it in your mouth, breathe in through the nose and there is a light tickle of carbonation. No trail end drying which is interesting given the high ABV. I guess if you like boozy flavor and bourbon this would be a good beer for you. Being dark, stouty fans we were hoping for Prairie to hide the booze a bit, but alas, they got us again with a high ABV (tasting and by volume)... if you like high ABV Prairie beers (as they have a tendency to do) this beer is good... if you want the chocolate, vanilla and coconut to smack you in the face in a stouty way, stay away because the ABV will beat you back with a whip. Cheers!

Yes, boozy, but so much of all flavors are present. I liked that you had to be looking for the coconut with other flavors bold, but it was so absolutely positively there. Along with vanilla and chocolate. But bourbon, sweet bourbon, is foremost—it’s in the name. And this beer frames that bourbon so well. Truly excellent. Only wish I had ordered multiple bottles to age!
