A Note on This Beer
Imagine joining a whole gaggle of monks for a day at the beach.
They’re all robed up, shaved heads, you know the look. One of them plucks at a guitar, another flips dogs on the grill, and a group in the back plays beach volleyball.
Then, one of the monks offers you something you’ve likely never seen before — it’s today’s traditional session-style Patersbier, crafted by Monkless Belgian Ales! What is this glass of magic?
Patersbier is also known as "enkel," which literally means “single” in Dutch. It was created by the same monks that gave us those boozy Tripels and Quads we love to sip slowly! Unlike those styles, though, the Patersbier is delicious AND crushable, so they could have a beer and then keep on chugging along with their monkish duties.
Like a light breeze, Brother’s Bier dances across the taste buds with sunny notes of lemon-lime citrus, amplified with a malty breadiness and a crisp effervescence you won’t find in the Belgian’s higher gravity brothers.
A spice note kicks in at the very end, lingering with a pleasant zing on the tongue that really amps up a delicious chicken dish, or even that fruit plate at the end of the picnic table.
So, if you’ve yet to try this rare but traditional style, join in on the Monk’s summer games and grab a Brother’s Bier!
