A Note on This Beer
When it comes to brownies, one debate has raged since time immemorial: nuts, or no nuts?
If you’re in the ‘no nuts’ camp, today’s brew will convince you that crunchy walnuts are a wonderful compliment to ooey-gooey, fudgy brownie goodness. Especially when you enjoy those flavors in an 11% ABV Strong Ale!
That’s what you’ll find in Brownie with Nuts from the San Diego International Beer Festival medalists at Abnormal Beer Co. Beers from this tiny brewery seldom leave California, but that hasn’t stopped them from earning shoutouts from Thrillist and Eater for their innovative sippers.
Like today’s blend of Barrel-aged Stout and Barrel-aged Brown Ale — it’s so chocotastic, it’ll satisfy your inner child’s sweet tooth even if your inner child thinks they don’t like nuts. But its hints of roasty coffee and subtle, caramelly nuttiness are decidedly adult.
Oh, and the booze. That’s very adult, too, and this stuff packs a wallop.
But, it’s so buried beneath layers of cakey fudge from real chocolate brownie mix, cacao nibs, vanilla, and mounds of real walnuts, you won’t even notice it.
So grab a couple bottles from our little stash no matter which side of the ‘nuts’ debate you fall on. If you’re already a nut advocate, you’ll find all the flavors you already love. And if you think you’re anti-nut, a sip of this decadent brew might just change your mind.
