A Note on This Beer
If you’ve been on Tavour for a while, you’re probably sick of hearing me say this, but here goes: if you want to know how good a brewery REALLY is, you have to try their Lager.
Of course, the skill level at Charles Towne Fermentory isn’t really in question. They’re one of Eater’s Must-Visit Charleston Breweries, and Thrillist credits them with making some of “the city’s best beer!”
If that’s not enough, check out their resume: head brewer Adam Goodwin was the first brewer at the legendary Trillium!
Four years ago he founded Charles Towne, and he’s been making beers that represent South Carolina ever since!
Today’s Carolina Lager is a prime example of their unquestionable talents. The Charles Towne crew made it with locally harvested Carolina Gold barley from Carolina Malt House for biscuity bread crust notes and a lingering touch of honey. Then, they added traditional Czech Saaz Hops for floral nuances that accentuate that shining malt character.
If this is your first introduction to Charles Towne, I honestly envy you. You get to enjoy a truly exceptional beer, and discover one of craft’s genuine rising stars, all in one sip.
