A Note on This Beer
This just in from our Tavour Network News correspondent in Anchorage, Alaska —
The Kölsch-style Ale has been hijacked and completely transformed into a hoppy treat that’s tastier than anyone could have imagined!
We’re being told that this is a new hybrid of thirst-quenching Kölsch meets hopped-up Hazy, and it’s called Catalyst.
Our sources say the one behind this drastic development of thirst-quenching goodness is none other than Anchorage Brewing, famed haze-makers and one of Thrillist’s Best Breweries in America!
This crew is so revered by the country’s craft fans that they get away with nearly everything. And folks, it appears they’ve taken that well-deserved liberty to redefine what it means to be a Kölsch.
The brewers loaded up Catalyst with a tropical mix of Citra, Motueka, and Galaxy Hops, then dry-hopped it for extra fruity goodness! This means every sip goes down smooth, with a ton of orangey-mango flavors wrapped up in some pillowy-soft haze.
Normal Kölsches can have grassy undertones or whispers of lemon, and today’s beer has all this and much more irresistible flavor. The citrusy, golden pour with a tropical twist combines with a 5% ABV to make Catalyst the kind of beer that both hopheads and light beer lovers can actually agree on!
Is it a Kölsch? Is it a Hazy Pale? Is it a Hazy-style Kölsch? We don’t yet have the answer but we’ll be bringing you more updates on this style hijacking as the situation progresses.
