A Note on This Beer
Sour Fan Pro Tip: You’ll want to be part of today’s limited 359-bottle stash.
Silver City Brewery’s Charming Disarmer lures Sour fans in with its tart, juicy, real-peach lusciousness. Then, it entices them to stay for two years-worth of smooth vanilla oakiness from Chardonnay barrel aging.
Leave it to the barrel-aging kings of Washington to translate stone fruit into a Sour Ale so fruity and easy, people say it’s just like biting into a tart, ripe peach with “beautiful flavors and the right amount of sour.”
This sentiment is so strong, it’s earned Charming Disarmer a 4.06 on UT for its juicy complexity.
Peach on its own in a Sour Ale is delicious, but Silver City got their hands on the ideal barrels to complement the fruit with spice notes: Chardonnay oak.
Flavors of spice from the wine barrels pepper the fruity, peach body and infuse mild tannins before smoothing into swirls of vanilla. Luxurious hints of honey-drizzled plum skins from Brett dance across the palate. The addition of flaked oats create a smooth mouthfeel to balance the tart peach bite as it rounds into a dry, mouth-puckering finish.
*Charming Disarmer was a fan favorite at the Washington Cask Beer Festival.
