“Why can’t I find any good Browns?”

My craft buddies are always yelling this over the aisles at bottleshops, scouring the shelves for this chocolate-forward style. And I feel their pain. 

That’s why today, I’m not just bringing you a good Brown, I’m bringing you the latte-laden version of one of the Top 10 Imperial Brown Ales in the World on UT: Chickow! Espresso.

The Ohio craft masters at Listermann brewed this version with the signature dose of sweet hazelnuts, but then they energized it with loads of real coffee beans!

Intense aromas of cacao nibs, roasted pecans, and caramel toffee greet the nose from the thick-as-molasses pour. The first sip sends waves of dark chocolate, rich malts, and buttered rum to mingle on the palate. Notes of hazelnut and roasty, fresh-brewed Italian espresso balance out the sweetness, helping hide the massive 10.5% ABV.

This boozy flavorbomb is bold, toasty, and lush as heck — like a dark chocolate lava cake served affogato (with espresso).

No more crowing in the aisles at bottleshops in search of a decent Brown Ale. Now you can make up for all that time wasted by enjoying a great glass of Chickow! Espresso.
