A Note on This Beer
Sour IPA is an undeniably weird category of beer.
But, if there’s any brewery we trust to nail weird, it’s Evil Twin. The gypsy-brewery turned Brooklyn-staple has a whole roster of 4+ rated Sour IPAs, so their brewers are experts when it comes to these bizarre sippers!
And they nail today’s Cinnamon Baked Pear Sour IPA. They brew this unique treat with real pear, brown sugar, and a heap of fresh cinnamon — it smells just like the actual baked pears my grandmother used to make on winter nights!
Warm notes of ripe pear come first, followed quickly by a sprinkle of cinnamon spice. Then, get ready for a gentle pucker (like a dash of lemon) before dark fruits appear on the palate. You’ll find traces of plum and date that add complexity to the brew, then pear comes back on the finish, elevated by a touch of hoppiness.
As ET fan @Sebastiaan J. puts it, this beer is “unexpectedly wonderful.”
Of course it is! When it comes to brews from Evil Twin, we always expect the unexpected!
So grab some cans of Cinnamon Baked Pear Sour and embrace the weird! It might smell like grandma’s finest baked dessert, but it tastes like New York craft.
